Assistant Plant Manager (La Salle, CO)

BerQ RNG is looking for an Assistant Plant Manager for its dairy manure digester biogas to renewable natural gas (RNG) facility referred to as the Platte River Biogas facility located in LaSalle, Colorado. The Assistant Plant Manager will provide on-site operations and technical management for BerQ’s PRB facility. The successful candidate will report to the RNG Plant Manager and be responsible for supporting the Plant Manager on all operations and staff at the plant. They will be responsible for coordinating and enforcing plant safety protocols and production rules and regulations while providing day-to-day leadership and management of all plant operations functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all daily operations of the plant to ensure that all production and safety goals are met

  • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and make improvements as required.

  • Participate in hiring, promoting, training and developing direct reports.

  • Supervise direct reports ensuring they perform their duties effectively.

Senior Director of Accounting (Remote)

The Senior Director of Accounting will lead the global accounting function and ensure compliance with international financial reporting standards. This role will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, manage internal controls, support global consolidation efforts, and play a key role in financial reporting and audit readiness. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in public accounting and the ability to lead a high-performing team in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of four accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Plant Manager (La Salle, CO)

The successful candidate will provide the overall policy making, planning and direction of plant operation activities with the objective of plant health and safety, environmental compliance, and maximize growth and profitability, while providing day to day leadership and management of all plant operations functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and recommend operations policy, goals, and objectives. Develop specific short-term plans and objectives with supporting data and budgets.

  • Issue specific annual goals and objectives to immediate subordinates.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment at the Platte River Biogas facility. This role ensures the reliability and efficiency of mechanical and electrical systems while adhering to safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and process control systems.

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment, including compressors, pumps, valves, and gas processing units.

Electrical and Instrumentation Technician

The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of instrumentation, control systems, and automation technologies at our biogas production facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of the plant’s control and monitoring systems, including PLC/SCADA systems, process instrumentation, and industrial automation networks.

This position requires technical leadership, hands-on problem solving and troubleshooting expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimize plant performance and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, development, and maintenance of control systems, including PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar), HMIs, SCADA, and industrial communication networks.

  • Specify, calibrate, and maintain process instrumentation such as flow meters, pressure sensors, gas analyzers, temperature transmitters, and level sensors to ensure precise monitoring and control.

  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot PLC and SCADA programming to enhance system performance, efficiency, and reliability.

  • Experience in managing automation projects, including vendor selection, budgeting, and execution.

  • Experience with biogas plants, wastewater treatment, or renewable natural gas (RNG) facilities.

  • Familiarity with gas detection systems, flare control, gas conditioning equipment, and methane monitoring.

  • Experience with DCS (Distributed Control Systems), industrial cybersecurity, and historian/data analytics tools.

  • Experience leading automation projects and working with third-party engineering and system integration firms.

Job Location:

Plant Operator (Grand Rapids, MI)

BerQ RNG is hiring a full-time Plant Operator to operate and maintain its Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facilities. The Plant Operator will perform day-to-day activities to sustain plant up-time and product quality specifications requirements. This position ensures RNG plant manufacturing processing and compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA) and local government-related compliance activities. 

Responsibilities:

  • Operational Control: Monitor, operate, adjust and repair digester and RNG upgrading equipment required to maximize gas production in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.

  • Startup and Shutdown Procedures: Execute proper startup and shutdown procedures for RNG production systems, maintaining compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards.

  • Process Optimization: Collaborate with the engineering team to optimize RNG production processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and implementing changes as needed.

  • Quality Control: Conduct routine checks and tests to ensure the quality of manure and product gas meet specified standards. Troubleshoot and address issues affecting product quality promptly.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks on plant equipment, including troubleshooting and coordinating repairs to minimize downtime.

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to and enforce safety protocols and procedures, promoting a culture of safety among team members.

  • Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records of plant operations, including production data, equipment status, and maintenance activities.

  • Emergency Response: Respond effectively to emergency situations, following established protocols to ensure the safety of personnel and the integrity of the facility.

  • Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or relevant coursework is a plus.

  • Proven experience in operating and maintaining industrial equipment, preferably in the renewable energy sector and/or wastewater sector.

  • Strong understanding of RNG production processes and equipment.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in an industrial setting.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical issues independently.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Willingness to be on call and respond after-hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
